How to submit

Please send us your work accompanied by a short bio.

You do not have to be a previously published author to have your work accepted by The Nonconformist. We take pride in helping both emerging and established writers find their literary home here.

Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Feel free to submit more than one piece at a time. You do not have to hear back from us about your previous submission to submit again.

We will not consider for publication unsolicited, previously published material (either in print or online, e.g. a self-published novel, a blog post).

We do not publish academic papers unless they have been revised into essays.

At this point, we do not accept unsolicited artwork for publication. Should it change, we will update our submission guidelines.

Unfortunately, due the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to give detailed feedback on rejected pieces of work.

We make every effort to respond to all submissions we receive. However, if you have not heard back from us within 6 weeks, feel free to query us at our contact email (contact [at] about the status of your submission.

We nominate for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net.
