Quarantine
October 20, 2020

The veil lifts
as it always does
and reveals

a new thing
a new play
a new story

the grass is greener
the air dewy
the sunshine poignant and true.

Things start with
a stutter
and a stop.

Like a hiccup
that won’t cease,
like catching a breath.

The rain does its best;
rips and pours
shreds, and cleans.

A world deeply damaged
and fragile
and new.
